weed eater flat twin... has it been done?

so I love thinking about things on my spare time :big: (engines etc).
I would like to make a flat twin, using 2 weed eater's or gas rc engines (zenoah, chung yang)
it has to be a flat twin (4 cylinder would be a dream)

has this been done? anything in writing I can look at (or anything at all)
my intentions would be to place this engine in a 1/6th scale tank.

The model airplane engines come in twin flat and flat 4 design. Check the out the OS engines and Tower Hobbies. The price of these might stop your heart. :big:

o yes I am aware.
if I could get something going myself, for cheaper. even if it means pouring hours into it :big:

You might be interersted in the "Engine Model Builder" magazine then. Bascially a IC model engine magazine.

I just checked them out friday. im thinking of it but its above $50US to get to canada :'(
I meant if anyone other then a manufacturer had built their own.
if you could just use 2 heads and make your own crank+housing.

so many possibilities in machining
