Hi all, I'm looking to make a steam siren for my 3" Burrell TE. I have no idea where to start, any hints tips, photos and drawings would be most helpful. Thanks.

A siren is two tubes one rotating inside the other with slots cut in both . Google siren noisemaker .

A conventional siren is a centrifugal blower with a slotted diffuser. It had to pump air to make a sound. The slots chop the air flow as the close fitting rotor vane tips pass by. The chop freq.( proportional to the number of slots, number of rotor vanes, and the rotor RPM) determines the siren's sound freq. Hence the freq. goes from low to high as the RPM goes from low to high. I can see a steam siren as not needing to pump but only needing to chop the steam flow, but I have never seen one. This link has some useful info on sirens: https://airraidsirens.com/
