you get lots of dti and clocks sold on e-bay, all makes and you can get anolouge ones fairly cheap

It is hard to say . depends on location venue wind direction...
I had the chance to get a set of six starret mics for $ 250 great condition, a few years back I wish I had ,but I wanted a shaper at the time and spent my allowance on that instead. I later got a starett mike set very used but usable on e-bay for $99.
So the nice ones is great condition were 20 cents on the dollar and the very used ones I paid 8 cents on the dollar.

Anyone know what I could expect to pay for a good used Starrett dial test indicator that measures in tenths, and in reasonably good condition? Something like this one sold by LMS:

I much prefer the Iterapid. Slightly less $ and generally considered to be the best. Do you really need 10ths ?

Most work only needs ± 0.001" (0.25MM) My self most of work do is ± 0.0005" on work over 24" Ø ± 0.001"
Most lathe and mill will only hold ± 0.0003"
