Spirit burner for flame licker

Question about spirit burners...

Started to look into building a Jan Ridders flame licker, well it's on my list of builds.... :

Looking at the burner, and all the others that have been built.. How do you build these, most look like they are made of brass, I assume they are they soldered together, but what do you use, is soft solder OK or does it to hot, will it need to be silver soldered..?

I have only soft soldered these in brass. Soft solder is sufficient though there would be nothing wrong with silver solder either. Remember to put a small vent hole in the cap though.
