Been tinkering on a Rudy K. traction engine. Finially got it to a rolling chassis. The bunkers on the back are pretty much done, the wheels just need grouters, got the axle block made. Time to start on the cylinder and valve works. I run a waterjet at work so making the sheet steel parts is a breeze, and we are equiped with a full machine shop, so getting a nice snow day moves progress along nicely.

Looking Good! This is a model I'd like to build as well. Did you make the wheels out of the pipe fittings as Rudy suggests or did you substitute?

Really Sweet! I get hankering every now and then to build something steam powered like that.

The wheels are just standard pipe, Ive substituded a few parts, Ive been using alot of plain steel instead of brass, its going to get powdercoated anyway. The front wheels are a little different so I had to change the length of the front steering parts. I plan on making the cylinder, flywheel and valve parts out of brass, that will be a nicer look. I also plan on moving the pressure gauge to a diffenent spot other than the bunker. Coles models have a nice small gauge that I would like to find.
