Now that I have retired from my job as an engineer designing and making injection moulds for all the big names I have upgraded my home workshop to digital readout. After a long time in the cupboard I am now working on the M E Beam Engine. Is is just me or are the drawings sent to confuse and baffle ?
There are so many errors that it is a wonder that Reeves is still in business. There needs to be a revised set of drawings and please get a little up to date. I know of no machine that reads in fractions of an inch !!! Some idea of fits would be useful as well. The drawing of the connector rod is not something I would advise beginners to make a start on without first doing your own breakdown sketched.
Now I have started to assemble some of the parts it seems that the piston rod is about .312" too short. !!!
I will get it up and running and will keep you all posted.
Happy workshop hours
