Power Supply

I'm not sure where to put this so hope it's ok here!

I'm sure a simple 12V lab power supply would come in handy and now I've seen some folks online have converted computer ATX power supplies from old PC's. So now a couple have dropped in my lap, have any of you guys done this, care to share any tips?
