I personally think you are setting yourself up for trouble by using liners. With this engine, one tiny bit out of square and it won't run, so the liners will need to be fitted before boring out the cylinders so that you can keep things square. Flame lickers are the usual ones with starting difficulty, the elbow engine comes a very close second.

Other areas on the engine require lubricating besides the cylinders, and it is those areas that spray most of the oil out.
