I finally finished the rebuild of my Arduino stepper driver controller. As you can see from the pictures, building electronic equipment is not my strong suit, but, hey, it's compact and it works!

Here is a picture of the controller box with the hand-held remote...

As you can see, the box is about 4.25" long...

This end has the USB connector for programming. The battery also plugs into this end...

On the front panel, beside the 2 line x 16 character LCD is the Infra Red Receiver module...

Here's a shot of the electonics inside the box. The longer IC is the Nano and the smaller one is the A4988 Stepper Controller

I'll be uploading a video later.

Hi Chuck.
Nice work. One day I will make me one. Are You going to put together å komponent list and electrick sceme.?

Ok Chuck, Now this is getting scary. I was thinking about remote on this and have the same IR remote in the Arduino draw. I am also using the the same driver. Now you have to post the code for this code moron. Carl

Really cool chuck. Where can i get the remote control unit please ?

The IR control kit came from Sparkfun:

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10783

It includes 2 of the IR receiver modules. Be careful to get the leads right on the receiver or you'll ruin it.

Carl, a text file of the code is attached. There is a fair amount of code for the infra red unit that I don't really understand, I just copied from an example on line.

Shipshape, I'll have to see what I can put together.

Thx...
Chuck

Clever setup Chuck! Do you know how many amps the stepper driver will handle?

Thanks again Chuck. I will gain a better understanding trying to figure out parts of the code. I'm sure I will never get it all but changing things and seeing the results is the best way for this old man.
