Hi:



Will Map gas work for silver soldering a model steam engine boiler?

If not does it take an Oxy Acetylene Welding set up to do it?

I am doing a mode boiler and want to use it for a small locomotive.

Would riveting strong enough? Is there an epoxy that is strong enough?

Is there anything else that may work?

It is not the gas that matters but the size of the burner and the wattage it puts out. Propane will be fine .

Really depends what you call small but something around 7Kw will do for upto a 4" dia boiler, also helps to make a hearth to bounce back the heat from vermiculite blocks
