This is my first loco which I completed in 1989, hence its number. I ran this until about 1993 at the Clitheroe track of Ribble Valley Live Steamers. unfortunately I then dropped out of model engineering until around 2012 when I brought the loco out of storage with the intention of overhauling and selling it. During the overhaul my interest was rekindled and I joined Leyland SME and the Simplex is a regular runner again. Am now building a 5" Johnson Single (Midland Spinner) which has just got to the stage of a chassis running on air.
