Laminar flow question

Hi all,

I have built a laminar flow engine which wont run when piston is connected to fly wheel, however the piston oscillates one its own when disconnected from fly wheel.

Any one has a clue what the problem/solution might be?

Too much friction? Have you used ball bearings anywhere (crankshaft and big end bearings) to reduce friction? Small ball bearings are easily obtained from hard drives and the better quality processor and computer cooling fans.

Is there any binding between piston rod and flywheel?

Not knowing much about these engines, the above suggestions are all I can think of.
