I like the looks of the HMEM site - there's lots of activity here.
Been fiddling around with home machining for about 10 years now, mostly for truck restoration work. Also I'm slowly progressing on a Tiny Power 1V-10 model - on my third try with the connecting rod!
Have a Myford ML7, South Bend 9x30, Atlas s7 shaper, Oliver die filer. When I look at some of the fantastic work members are accomplishing on this site I think I still have a long ways to go!

Welcome! Your right, thee are some outstanding machinists on here! I'm sure you'll do fine. I jumped in with nothing but a harbor freight 7 x 10 and I've got a couple engines under my belt! it helps being in tacoma also. I cant go outside even if I want to haha
