The F & F engine is very similar to the Bernay, except the Bernay is a twin, and the Bernay has it's cylinders inverted.

I see this is from a long time ago (before I was b orn) but I am wondering if anyone knows anything else about this?

This is about a bazillion years old (more than a million).

It seems I modeled this in an animated 2D gif many moons ago.
I had completely forgotten about his engine.

Not sure exactly where I found out about it.

Very nice indeed. I read somewhere that it was similar to the Bernays and now I c y. Does you have that book?

There may be some discussion of it in this book.
I will have to look and see if I have a pdf or a link to a pdf.

Fig. 2 is the engine I was thinking of, and similar to the F&F, but this engine has a single central crosshead, whereas the F&F has crossheads on the left and right side of the engine.

I think Fig. 2 would be much like a Bernay if the crosshead were rotated 180 degrees, and put above the engine.
