I have an ER collet chuck for an import lathe. However, there aren't
any collets with it. I'm not sure of the size. If I measure the hole in
the closer, will that tell me the size ? I think their most likely ER 25.
It's an off brand lathe that has FS-450A written on it. 8" swing and
14" from the jaws of the three jaw chuck to the live center.
I just turned 73 and haven't done machining for several years. I have
a South Bend Heavy 10, that import and a Gorton pantigraph that I've
made into a mill. That's where I'd like to use the collets. As of now, I
can only use 3/8' cutters in my mill.
I'm looking forward to building some small engines. You guys sound like
your all having lots of fun here. Thanks for any help.
