This is a decent Clausing model 5914 serial # 503556 with a lot of accessories. 12" X 36" by the catalog. 3 phase. The ways look pretty good. It needs a bath and I'm sure some adjusting and tinkering.
I have a variety of literature/manuals/catalogs and high quality scans of that same literature to go with it. When idling it makes some noise which I assume is from the variable speed as these models are prone to do. I have been using it intermittently a few minutes every few weeks or months for about 8 years now and before that my mentor used it pretty regular prior to his passing. Be glad to show it to anyone interested, it will be sold as is. I have a forklift and can load it in a pickup or on a trailer just outside of Lexington, Virginia.

Here is an overall picture with all that is included sitting on the lathe (lower cover in picture but not in place):

Almost 3 dozen pictures of it and all the included accessories/features in this album (also few unrelated items in album):

List of goodies with it, in about same order as pictures in the album:
  • Lathe model 5914 serial # 503556
  • 4 sided turret tool post
  • Extra shear pins for lead screw
  • Royal lever type collet closer with 5C spindle sleeve and aluminum nose (to protect spindle and to remove sleeve)
  • Variable spindle speed
  • 4 jaw chuck, nice Japanese (older) with chuck key
  • 3 jaw chuck with removable soft jaws
  • Small face plate for drive dogs
  • collet hand wheel draw tube
  • One additional new and one good used Gates toothed belt
  • Lever operated double tool cross slide with adjustable stop and 2 tool holders
  • (Also standard cross slide and compound installed on machine)
  • Steady rest
  • Follower rest
  • Cross slide lead screw cover, spare, new
  • 6 sided turret tailstock with adjustable stops and hand wheel
  • Ball bearing center, nearly new
  • Jacobs 1/2" drill chuck and key
  • 1-1/2" threading die adapter (in tail stock)
  • Adjustable carriage stop, shop made, nice and functional
  • Spanner for spindle nose/chucks

Asking $3,250 complete as listed above, I don't want to part it out or sell pieces separately. I could be interested in cash and trade or a decent straight trade; machine shop items, 48-53 GM trucks, Detroit Diesel 53 series engines, 20 qt (or larger) ice cream maker....... I'll listen to all offers.

Thanks,
Grigg
