Completely restored in 2006 with full tear down, bearing replacement, new flat belt, new cross feed nuts, complete re-paint. Local sales only. The lathe is located in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area.

• Originally resided in Lawrence Livermore Labs
• Used strictly in a home hobby shop since restoration
• Peerless ½ H.P. 1725 RPM motor, 115/230, currently wired for 115 volts
• 10” swing over bed by 24” between centers
• Quick change gear box
• Accu-Remote DRO
• Sits on a shop-built cabinet with a 1.5” thick top and 6 drawers below
• Original Logan drip tray included [restored but never installed]
• Spiral bound Operators Instruction/Parts List included.
• Accessories included:
• Traditional tool post with many tool holders and an assortment of cutting tools, including two knurling tool
• South Bend 4006 four jaw 6” chuck
• Square block tool holder
• Furnas on/off/reversing switch
• Jacobs chuck for tail stock [needs a #2 Morse taper attachment]
• Carriage lock, tool post and tail stock wrenches
• Micro-adjustable carriage stop
• Three lathe dogs
• Chuck backing plate

That is a nice little lathe, Jeff.... I'm actually surprised that you even needed to do any restoration. The Labs typically don't use stuff that much. I've seen some very nice stuff from LBL, for instance, that was near new. Anyhow, take a geiger counter to it! LOL

You might do well to put a price on the listing, though... And, I think you may mean "Accu-Rite" not "Accu-Remote". I've never heard of the latter in DRO land, but the former definitely is pretty common.

Where live should great place to sell the lathe.
Try Craigslist I have used in past and everything sold sooner or later.
Last I heard you still buy parts for that lathe.

Yes, and the list is presided over by Scott Logan, grandson of the founder. Logan Actuator Co. - Lathe Department as well as a FB group I've never visited.
The NOS isn't limited to what's on the web site. Scott also stocks the original specification head stock bearings. Endless debate over value of those vs. other options.

I think most do not know any thing of class of bearing.

At one time I was buying 10,000 ball bearing at one. I need a class 9 ball bearing. Need to buy I also to a few.
The manufacturer said just test the bearings I had on hand. That all we do here and save your money and do your own testing.

It was a big surprise for after the years of buying class 9 bearing for machine tools.

The lathe sold today and is out the door. It was a beast to move. We stripped it down to just the bed and the cross side/apron and two men could barely lift it. Thank to every one for their interest.
