Does anyone know of an Australian source for adjustable parallels and 123 blocks.

There is plenty of suppliers in the USA but the postage is as much as the item when you get them shipped to down under. Must be the cost of reorganization the sub-atomic particles in the metal when they hit the southern hemisphere. ;D Mklotz could probably shed some light on that issue. :)

Cheers

Phil,

Try Hare and Forbes or J Blackwood and Son - the latter charge like wounded bulls.

Amen to the J Blackwood and Son price appraisal. ;D
I have also checked the Hare and Forbes web site, but no joy there. Fiora machinery here in Perth had no idea what a 123 block was :(
Thanks for the leads anyway Bob.
On a side note thanks for the effort you put into posting your work. As someone else said b4, I learn heaps from how you do the project not just the project itself.

To broaden the net a little, has anyone got Ebay stores in Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan, China or Singapore) that they recommend or know of.

Stepping out to the shed again, woohoo1

I've bought stuff off these guys and they were OK http://www.ctctools.biz/servlet/StoreFront They do have an ebay store but you can buy direct.

Or I've also bought from CDCO in Ilinois http://www.cdcotools.com/ and while the Oz $ is back up again, 82c this morning, it may be a good opportunity for you. Their stuff comes from the either same factory as the Hare & Forbes stuff or the one next door.

One advantage the US suppliers have over most postal/delivery systems is their United States Post Office flat rate international system. They can airmail 20lb (9kg) anywhere in the world for USD42 AUD53. Basically you ask CDCO to put 9kg worth of stuff into a flat rate box and you get it here for AUD6 per kg. Cheap!

Which reminds me, while the Oz $ is up again I had better browse their catalogue again.

McJing's will fix you up, and their prices are pretty reasonable, postage pretty fast.

Thanks Guys,

WOW, I was still thinking that we were still down around the 70c mark. It puts a different light on the US suppliers. Thanks Bob.

Now that's what I've been looking for, They have an excellent range and the prices are right as well.
I think I'll be getting most of my stuff from them, but I haven't found the adjustable parallels on there site yet.
I think they will be coming from the US
Thanks Tel.

Cheers again all
Phil

p.s. woops, looks like the new baby is getting ready to meet the world. Off to the hospital tonight I think. th_wav there goes the shed time. :toilet:
Just time for one more QCTO update. ;D

Good luck with it then - hope all goes well.
