Every year about this time I post a little reminder about the web site
AuctionZip.com

For USA and Canadian members, you type in your Zip or Postal Code
and it lists upcoming auctions in your area. The wife and I hit one
this evening. Tonight's haul was a 1953 bedroom suite, two original
oil paintings on canvas, a wall mirror, an antique sitting chair and a few
crock and pot type things.

Total cost $318. Just look at the brass and alabaster pulls on that
furniture.

Beautiful aren't they?
Great part is we brought all of that home stuffed into and
tied to the roof of a Jeep Liberty! :D

OK, enough of that stuff!
Two days from now there will be an auction of a hardware store that
was over 100 years old. Give this listing a look.

Click on the "View Photo Gallery" link there and you will see why I
am so interested.

If you have never looked at the AuctionZip.com
website, give it a try. You might be surprised by what you find
listed there.

Very nice catch, Rick. I love that old furniture. Back when people had pride in what they made. And what they bought.

Beats the Hell out of the cardboard crap they try to pass off as "furniture" today.

If I can't tell it used to be a tree, it ain't wood!
