I designed and made this 8 Cylinder Radial Stirling Engine for my parents for Christmas last year. I am a machinist of 33 years and have been wanting to make miniature engines for a while now and this is my first attempt. Unfortunately I have not been able to get it to run. I think the pistons and connecting rods need to be lighter. They are currently made out of 316 stainless steal and PTFE (teflon). I was going to remake them out of titanium and Peek. I am also having a problem with fuel not wicking up fast-enough to stay burning properly. Any thoughts or Ideas that my help me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Gary
