I need some 64DP steel timing gears for an engine I am hoping to finish. Is there a suppler for the gears? Or how would you go about cutting them?

Thanks

I have heard several folks mention Boston Gears.

McMaster Carr is another one I have heard mentioned.
I think they ship US only.

If you have a set of gear cutters, or specifically the cutter that matches the gear tooth you want to use, then you can cut gears on the mill using an indexing head.
Here is a video; I picked this video randomly, since it used a mill and indexing head, but I am not sure about the methods he uses.

And there is a gear program/spreadsheet online that I have seen, that shows how to set up a gear blank, etc.
I don't know where the program is.

Here is one gear program I found.

And another:

And 3rd gear program.

Is it possible to re-engineer your setup to suit module system gears? There is any amount of module offerings, in both brass and steel, on the 'net, certainly very many more than the diametral pitch system. And M gears seem to be very much cheaper than DP's. Personally, I have recently sourced M0.3,,M0.4 and M0.5., of 11,12,13, 17 and 19T sizes, of a variety of tooth widths and not long ago, I bought some 30, 43 and 60T and there are some 80T steel, M0.5. Most are brass and seem to be intended for the model car fraternity.

I laid the gears out in Soldworks and discovered I was thinking wrong. I can use 32DP gears. A standard 28 tooth and some 14 tooth pinion wire from Stock Drive Products will fit the engine.
