Almost every plan I have seen on small steam engine's they use paper gaskets. I am just curious why we can't use High Temp Silicone such as Nuflex 302, it withstands temp up to 500 degrees, its what is used for many new car engines instead of gaskets. Even my Hot Rod engine the exhaust...

I think the best 18.00 dollars I have spent is this tap handle. It chucks in the drill press and helps me make sure tap's are runing true. That is canadian so you good folks in the US would on pay,,,hmmm alot less. LOL
