    Seeking Stirling fan plans

Hi Everyone, I've been AWOL for some time now, mainly due to the fact I've picked myself up a couple of BSA motorcycles I've been restoring that have overtaken my workshop and left me no bench space for model building. A few months ago I gave my dad my spare lathe, an old Sherline that was a...

This is all the drawings required to build the Kenneth Wells traction engine. The author gives permission for the drawings to be copied but not?the photos or text on how to build it (Which is fair enough). The Australian dollar has just bcome worth more than the US dollar. This is a massive improvement from a year or two ago when the OZ dollar only got $0.65 US. Look out ebay US and US tool shops as I know where a lot of my Christmas presents will be coming from this year. :big:

Vulcanizer and wax injector car boot find

I was just saying the other day I never find anything interesting at car boot sales and today stumbled across these two items. I've tested them both and they work fine. Now I just need the kiln, vacuum equipment for the plaster and a centrifugal caster and I'm set. :big: It will probably be...

Finally a car boot find worth having

I went to a swap meet today to try and find some old cheap pewter mugs to melt down into toy soldiers for my son. I didn't get a single one, but I did find this for $200. I've given them both a quick test and they seem to work. Looks like at some point in the future I will be doing some lost...

    PTFE or Graphite Yarn packing?

Can anyone tell me if there is a benefit or disadvantage of using PTFE packing over graphite yarn. The reason I'm asking is I just received my gradfathers Stuart 10V he build in the 1980s but it is in need of an overhaul and I'm making a list of what I need to order at the moment. Besides it...

Stack of silver steel and guage plate on ebay UK

I can't buy it as it would cost too much to post back to Australia, but if someone here does buy it I would be interested in buying some of the guage plate off you. You just don't see stuff like this come up for sale in Australia...
