hi guys,

I thought I would put a quick note up for anybody living in Auckland NZ, I volunteer as an engineer aboard an old 1935 steam tug, William C Daldy, we are having a static open day on the 6th and 7th of April to partly burn of our remaining coal before heading to dry dock but also so people can pop down and see the engines running and boat in steam. you can check out our web page here - Daldy.com

I know it's not model engineering but this is what got me into building engines and also inspiring me to eventually build a triple expansion engine.

If you can't make it for that weekend, I am pretty much there every Saturday, I would be more than happy to show any one around.

Cheers
Scott

Very cool ! I volunteer on a WWII Victory ship giving engine room tours while on our summer cruises. Yup, steam turbine powered

Would be great to visit your tug, but a little far to drive/fly/cruise for a weekend :)

Oh I am, jealous, what an awesome ship..shame there is not more photos of the engine room though, it must be nice to have a full workshop, we have no lathe or mill so can't make our own bits.. And my Myford is a bit small !!

Next time we are up in LA I will def. pop down for a visit!
