Oil or Grease?

Hi Guys

I am finishing up a 1/4 scale Perkins Hit & Miss Engine and have a question on the best method for lubricating the Rod & Main Bearings. These are your typical steel shafts running in brass sleeves. I had purchased grease cups with the intent of using grease. Grease to me looks like it might be longer lasting and possibly less messy over using oil. Interested to hear your thoughts on this topic. Thanks.

No matter how you lubricate an engine, it will always get 'messy'.

To me more lubrication is best, so on that thought, rather than maybe running a bit dry with grease, I would use oil and give it a dose of oily rag at the end of each run.
