not a new engine by far

hi guys
i was at my mom and dads today and found a little steam engine my dad made for me about 35 years ago. now keep in mind my dad is not a machinist (cabinet maker by trade) and he didn't even own a lathe at the time! any turning he did he would hold the part in the drillpress and as the part turned he would file it to size.
i remember this engine very well and i remember bugging the crap out of him to make it for me. i was just wondering if any one else has a model that there dad made for them, i think it would be nice to see some of them.

Chuck, thanks for sharing that. It really saddens me that the things that my father and I worked on together are all but gone. We lost him in '03. The one thing that I do have is the memories, and we did a bunch of stuff together!

That is a fine model you have there. It is a diamond, just not as polished! It is something to be proud of for sure!
