Hi
The threads in my Myford ML7 chuck back plate are becoming quite worn so I bought a new one at the Warwick model engineering exhibition yesterday. The chuck is a 3 jaw self centreing Burnerd. I'm looking for some tips on the machining of the new backplate. I haven't removed the chuck from the old back plate yet. I have an adapter that fits in my rotary table that has a Myford thread on it. I'm thinking of centreing the rotary table in the mill so that when I have machined the register I can transfer it to the mill and drill the 3 holes for the mounting bolts. I should be able to get the PCD from the old back plate. Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful.
Cheers
Rich
