This is a pretty simple little tool I made to square up stock in the milling machine vise. I use it when I want to mill a side square to one edge. Great for truing up stock out of the bandsaw or scrap bin.

The blued stock extends down into the vice? Neat idea for end-squaring.

Yes, the blued stock is clamped in the vice. The blade of the square is resting on the top of the vice jaw and the T portion of the square extends down into the vice. However, the T portion is a little less than 1/8" thick so the square can be removed without loosening the vice jaws.

I might add that the square angle can be adjusted by loosening the single, countersunk screw. I did this so the the square could be "tuned" to 90 degrees from a reference square, but you could also set it to other angles.
