This hobby has so many directions it can go.
You can build from bar stock, or buy a casting kit.
I've often thought of building a mini foundry to pour castings.
In fact I have this in a corner of my basement right now.

Forms are built ready for refractory. Problem is that evasive
"ROUND TUIT" thing....
Has anyone else ever thought of trying it?

Just yesterday I was thinking that I need to build a small foundry.

A few weeks back my womam told me to fire up the BBQ and burn it clean , well I left it on wide open for too long and it did melt some of the aluminum cross supports in the bottom, I pulled two nice blobs out of the crumb tray at the bottom of the BBQ. (she was mad) I almost burned the BBQ up. (who would figure)

So that when the idea hit home with me.

Yes its on my to do list.

Lindsay Puiblications has a lot of books on foundry work, and building your own furnace.
