I started to think it was a Doxford.................then I read the nameplate ::)

Reminds me of a monster Diesel engine I saw while in the Navy stationed in the Panama Canal Zone (before it was given back to Panama). This thing was a backup generator for the Pan Canal city of Coco Solo. It was probably built before WW2 when Coco Solo was a U.S. Navy submarine/seaplane base. It was housed in a very large concrete blockhouse type of building. When it was running you could distinctly hear every cylinder fire - I’m guessing that it ran at about 120 or so RPM and you could hear the dull boom, boom, boom for miles. It was many years ago and unfortunately I don’t have any idea who made it or any or other statistics.

I'm impressed - beyond English and Russian, you speak (read) Danish too !

I must admit that I didn't recognise it by looks either, but I certainly recognised one of Denmarks famous brands, that sadly doesn't exist anymore.

This is a big engine, but no where among the biggest they build.
