I am not a expert machinist by a long shot. But I try. I live in Texas now, near Dallas.
I have a Sherline Lathe and a small milling machine, as well as some other motley items like a drill press, arbor press, etc.
Most of my machining has been to fix things so. For example the first job I used the milling machine for was to make new hinges for the screen door on my home. The hinges were a weird offset type, so I wound up milling out new ones.
these are the three model steam engines I have made over the years. The one with the built in boiler was a high school project way back around 1967. The other two were more recent. I have some more casting kits to make some more steam engines and a boiler and a water pump, but I haven't started on them yet.
