Hi,

How do you guys attach your lathe chuck to the rotary table. If you have the work piece turning on the lathe then you have to mount it on the rotary table without removing it from the chuck. And what are like the flanges or accesories that attach the chuck onto the ratary table.

Thanks
Drei

Hi Drei

You don't say what type of lathe/rot table you have. In my case its a Myford lathe. Adapters are available that fit directly into the rotary table MT2 like this.

It is for sure handy to take the work with the chuck from lathe to mill. But not always needed. The runout of the seperate spindles may well exceed what you can get by recentering the work on different chucks.

I took a spare 4" plain back chuck, and made a mount for the rotab. A single bolt in the center makes it a quick job to mount. It can also then be chucked up in the lathes 8" chuck if needed. After 5 years not yet needed. Your mileage may vary...

I have a 4 jaw on the rt . I made t -Nuts and though bolted though the chuck.
