First post and I’ve made a total mess of it. I won’t work in the shop tired (saves on bandages), don’t know why I thought I could post something. I’ve got this in the wrong thread and I’ve made a mess of it to boot. My apologies. I’ll try again later. Maybe read the thread on “how to post a new thread” first
Even if that does sound like reading instructions.

I think all things start with a 4 x 6 band saw

I started with the fixed wedge. An angle of around 12 deg. gives me around .25” total vertical travel. Cut it down to about 1/2”at the small end and cut a 3/8 x 3/8 slot down the middle.
