Hi all
Can you recommend me some CAD software for MAC?
Better if it`s free :)
So far, all i could find was architecture based (archicad and a few others).
I`m thinking on purchasing Autocad, but it`s a bit expensive for my south american budget!

Regards,
Norberto

You might consider ViaCad. It is mostly a 3D program and it has the advantage of being the only Cad platform that I know of that can share files with the PC world.

I have shared files with Mac users and the files swap back and forth. It was hard to read some of the dimensions on the Mac generated files so I had to redo the dimensions to make off angle fonts readable.

Hi
Thanks for your answers, i will try both and see which one fits my needs.
Both had trials and are installed now.

Hi Norberto,
I too, can recommend ViaCAD. I have used it for a couple of years now, and find it extremely useful for my purposes (model engineering visualisation). If you should choose to buy it (currently $99US, I believe), i recommend that you join their user group. It is very helpful, and one of the developers reads, and responds, to postings to the group regularly. Have a look at http://www.punchcad.com
Regards, Ian. ;)
