I love your version of the Tiny!!!! I am particularily fond of the cylinder and head as I have been toying with the idea of an air-cooled version. I was wondering if you made the cylinder out of aluminum with a cast iron sleeve or solid cast iron?

Dang Gail, you beat me to the punch!!!! I have redrawn the cylinder for an air cooled version as well, however, the design is slightly different than what you have. It appears more like the version Hamilton Upshur used on his 3/4" bore model. I am curios to see what you actually come up with as...

This engine is ideal for those of us that like to work small but I am sure it will hit the hearts of all. I have downloaded the posted drawings so far and I am guessing there are more on the way, right? 8) Can't wait!!!!!!

I have to admit, I started on one of these and wound up giving up on the project. I encountered many errors in the plans published in the magazine. One of them was the 2-56 hole locations for the pushrod guide in the side frame. It was off by almost 3/4" by print specs. I didn't feel like...

bearcar1, I did mean the "top hat" style bushing versus a seperate block. I am sorry if there was confusion in my explanation. I do not expect to use the engine for anything but display purposes and the occasional run at shows etc... In fact, I will only operate on low pressure compressed air...

Thanks guys !!! I have made the decision to go with bronze bushings. This, however, leads me to another question. The bearing caps are drawn with a .030 step in them for alignment purposes to the bearing blocks. The step is .500 wide which is what I need to increase the journal diameter to allow...
