    sorry rivergypsy to tell you the truth ive been trying to buy a mill for ages and have been down the road trying to buy from ebay for so long now and getting outbid in the last seconds i aint going there again m8 think no ill keep it .

    Hi rescued this machine this week from getting smashed,know some people may think its not worth saving but i like old machines and would rather put some time into this than a chinese machine the other reason is if you can forgive this yorkshire saying its built like a brick **** house lol anyway...

    condensors on kettering systems seem to vary from 1uf to 2 uf but are high voltage otherwise back emf from coil will destroy them ,these are now getting harder to obtain with this system now never being used on vehicles.last time i needed one i had to go to a maplins store and buy a 2uf at...

    In my days working garages the kettering ignition system with a weak spark was usually down to a degraded condensor or a few short turns in the ignition coil you mentioned the points coil and battery pack but no mention of the condensor.

    yes you do need an ac supply but it isnt a problem as transformers only work from ac just remove the rectifier from a decent amperage battery charger

    quick way is to visit local scrap yard remove starter solenoid from a pre engaged starter motor then remover the motor contacts and you have your coil wound for a 12volt supply and it already has a core connect it up and demag everything.
