    Four stroke rotary valve engine

I've been working on the plans for this engine. I'm concerned about lubrication to the lower end. All the fuel/oil mixture is in the head and cylinder and none in the crankcase. The old Webra T4 engine also deal with this problem. But, I've seen two different versions of the Webra. One...

    Help me identify this belt?

I bought a belt drive for my mini-mill several years ago and this is the belt that it uses. The belt is clearly marked "Gates 110". However, the only belt that I can find in the Gates catalog is the TruFlex 0110 that is described as being 1/4" x 1/8" with a circumference of 11". My belt is 11"...

Idea for 4 stroke rotary valve.

Will this work? The valve is a 1/2" diameter rod with two chambers for intake and exhaust. Each chamber has holes to connect to the intake and exhaust ports in the cylinder head and to the carb and exhaust pipe. The valve will run in the cylinder head and be driven by a timing belt to a gear...

    $30 ignition system

I just ordered a single cylinder ignition system from this outfit: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=13767 I intend to retrofit it to my Webster engine and see how well it works. They also have two cylinder ignitions available.

    Boring head counterweight?

When boring on my mini-mill with a 2" boring head the vibration quickly becomes excessive as the hole gets bigger. Is there an easy way to counterweight a boring head to eliminate the shakes? I can sort of visualize some sort of arm mounted in the head with a weight securely attached to the end...

    Turning between centers?

Last evening I made a crankshaft for my version of Chuck Fellows John Deere motor. This was the first time that I had tried turning a complete crank between centers. The project came out OK, but I ruined my tailstock MT3 dead center. Since I don't have a ball bearing "live" center I used the...

    Using a rotary table.

I purchased the Harbor Freight 3" rotary table today and spent some time playing with it today. When setting up an operation on the rotaty table I assume you first must center the table under the mill quill and then center the work on the table. Is this about right? Charlie
