Hi I have found the only supplier of TIMESAVER lapping compound in the UK minimum quantity 1lb tin @ £51 so will be limited to one grade any suggestions which grade would be the most general purpose Ben

A few years back I visited a large engineering works a mention was made of a honing powder one grade that started of coarse and gradually degraded to fine an didn't have to be cleaned of .Has anyone else heard of this and do you know its name and where it ma be obtained Old Ben

as a newbie to hot air engines (built one) I hope to have a go at a low diferetial one and I wonder if there is any special technique for turning carbon I imagine it might be a bit like cast iron.would be pleased for any help Ben
