Earlier in your build, I think you commented you would like to talk to someone concerning the build.
Bob Bromps sold a kit of the 3 cyl, FM, and other iron cast engines. I am sure he would talk with you...
I prefer to keep the wife happy, and thereby myself a little happier. There is one way to accomplish both, when thinking about this problem.
Research the machines, and make a selection, and a purchase. Accept delivery when the wife is not home, and wrap the machine in gift paper. Now the...
I am in the US, and there was a "walk behind" mower manufactured for the retail market. It was called "The Flymo".
It was marketed on the premise that it would make mowing banks easier. It was not around long.
If cost is not a real issue, but you are interest in the design of the machine, a Wabeco is an excellent mill. I have had one for 10 years, and have had no issues...
There are plenty of 12 volt pumps, made for lawn sprayers, for this purpose. Check Northern Tool for many pumps. Try doing a little research. The Web is a great information tool.

Greg
I am looking for the missing page to the John-Tom rocking steam engine. It would seem to me page 6 of 7 is missing. [I think page 6 should be page 7.] There is no detail of the "thingy", head, on the top of the cylinder.
I rather liked this itty bitty engine, and thought it would make a good...
