resurrected an old project 3 cylinder fairbanks (going to be a long build)

Earlier in your build, I think you commented you would like to talk to someone concerning the build. Bob Bromps sold a kit of the 3 cyl, FM, and other iron cast engines. I am sure he would talk with you...

    milling machine question

I prefer to keep the wife happy, and thereby myself a little happier. There is one way to accomplish both, when thinking about this problem. Research the machines, and make a selection, and a purchase. Accept delivery when the wife is not home, and wrap the machine in gift paper. Now the...

Ever seen a flying lawn mower?

I am in the US, and there was a "walk behind" mower manufactured for the retail market. It was called "The Flymo". It was marketed on the premise that it would make mowing banks easier. It was not around long.

    Selection of a milling machine

If cost is not a real issue, but you are interest in the design of the machine, a Wabeco is an excellent mill. I have had one for 10 years, and have had no issues...

    Nozzle design for misting?

There are plenty of 12 volt pumps, made for lawn sprayers, for this purpose. Check Northern Tool for many pumps. Try doing a little research. The Web is a great information tool.

Newbie and the Thread Cutting OOPS

I HATE learning from mistakes. I would rather learn from a book or mentor. But, it seems doing is the manner in which it is done. Committing errors in this manner keep many industries in business, and suppliers working.

    Oh Deer what a week

"Armadillos are starting to move ..." I thought these critters were mobile speed bumps?

    tiny power

I have done several of their engines, including the 104. The 103 is a double 104 with a single fly wheel. The 104 is very straight forward, not a lot of complication. I don't know if you are going to machine the cylinder on a drill press. Anything is possible, but that does not mean everything...

    Mrs Maryak's Mansion

Bob, Nice work. I enjoy learning about the construction practices of another location, the layout, materials, utilities. I am a pussy person too. Your felines look very content. Mine are out of doors killing mice in the corn fields. Regards, Greg

Thank you for the info. I will finish the 3 in progress, and try to run them. I like the video.

    Rocking Steam Engine

I am looking for the missing page to the John-Tom rocking steam engine. It would seem to me page 6 of 7 is missing. [I think page 6 should be page 7.] There is no detail of the "thingy", head, on the top of the cylinder. I rather liked this itty bitty engine, and thought it would make a good...

    sherline mill

I have three mills, small, medium, and large. I started with a manual Sherline, with a DRO. I built my first three engines with it, and still return to it. It is a good machine, is honestly represented by Sherline, and have many accessories available. Replacement parts are no problem. The Web...
