I and just finishing up a Webster engine and realized with the points driven from a cam on the crank , doesn't this give a spark every stoke rather every other stoke as should be in a 4 stroke engine?

Some please set me straight.

I believe its known as the "wasted spark" system , but the extra spark doesn't affect anything as when it fires theres no compressed mixture to ignite but only spent gas being exhausted and the fresh charge about to be taken in on that stroke.

Thanks for the quick response. Kind of figured it wouldn't hurt but wasn't sure.
thanks again
