This was the first turbojet engine I constructed using only a garrett manufactured compressor wheel and turbine wheel. All the other engine components were fabricatedmyself, all of the electronics, programming, and other fabrication were built and refined over a course of 3 months time. The scooter would do 50MPH+ but was unsafe to operate at higher speeds as the rake angle of the steering forks caused severe headshake at speeds over 50MPH.

Overall, this was an incredibly successful project - learned many new things and it served its purpose well. The whole idea of building this engine was to actually build the hard parts, the electronics, the programming, and use it as a stepping stone for building a larger turboshaft engine for use in a VTOL airframe - yes, to actually fly. Many things were learned in this build which have carried over to the TV94 turboshaft engine project currently underway.

Currently this engine is enjoying a re-visit to make some upgrades to the rotating group, including a bearing sleeve within the bearing housing with a small 0.0015" clearance for the fuel/oil mix to aid in dampening of the rotative, a new combustion chameber designed using CFD software and ultimately an ST50 freepower turbine in a fabricated housing for shaft power on the scooter. :)
