This is a generic working model of a steam traction engine with a 1 inch bore and a 2 inch stroke. The cylinder assembly, steam chest, and crank disk are constructed of brass, the piston, connecting rod, shafts, and boiler are stainless steel. The model has a functioning differential, throttle, water pump, cylinder oiler, pop valve, pressure gauge, cylinder purging petcocks, steering system, engine reversing mechanism, and whistle. The governor is non-functional. The cast drive wheels are from an old push type reel lawn mower with internal gears. The engine is fueled with propane such that it can be run indoors - as in a classroom. Original design.
