For Sale: Haighton Major HSU1 Universal Horizontal Miller with Quill feed vertical head.

A very nice small footprint miller modelled on the Hardinge TM/UM design and made to the same high standard by Haighton's of Burnley.

Full details, company history and many more pictures at http://haighton.webhop.net

The machine runs off 240vac single phase (simple 13A plug) using a step-up transformer and VFD (has full vari-speed)

The machine is complete with the drawbar for vertical head, horizontal overhead arm, 1" arbour, collect closer, spray shield.

Selling with clamping kit, Int30 Clarkson Auto lock chuck with miscellaneous end mills, a 5C 30mm end mill

and a machinable 5C arbour (threaded 1"x 12tpi).

Reluctant sale, I'm only selling it because I've found another Major and I don't have room for the two. Full story here: http://www.mycncuk.com/forums/showthread.php/1231-Haighton-Major

£1500

Tom,

It's not really a clone, it's not an exact copy, Haighton's must have had a UM to model it on, but they then designed their own parts to suit their facilities. If you look at my web site: http://haighton.webhop.net most of the internal parts are on display.

Bill
