Hi,
I am Rob from Germany, engineer for 3D constructions and my hobbys are my Cars and my Harley Chopper.
During the long winter here i am operating on my 75 years old Kärger Lathe.
I am here because Rolf Depping inspiered me 2009 by interviewing him and he shows his amazing enginges.
He wins several times the Edgar westbury trophy.
I collect magazine and find 5 of his engines , but two are still missing > 500ccm V2 Husquarna 1935 and NSU Rennmax 500.
Have someone some informations about?

Thanks.
Kind regards
Rob

Welcome Rob, glad to have you here.

I recall in the 1980's riding my 1975 Yamaha MX 2-stroke with a group of guys, and one guy had a modern long-travel 400cc Husqvarna enduro bike.
I talked him into letting me ride it, and WOW, what a bike. So smooth with so much low-end torque.

I have had an obsession with big bore singles for a long time, and own three 500cc singles, including on-road and off-road bikes.

I had a Yamaha 650 twin for a short time, and liked it a lot too, but it was not nearly as trim and nimble as my SR500.

If I had the money, I would be riding a Norton 750 Commando.

But sorry, no info on the V2 Husky or the NSU 500.

Photo attached of my SR500.
The first thing I did after purchasing it was strip off that ugly seat back and rack.
It is a very torquey ride, and I believe you could use it to plow fields give its abundant torque, and perfectly flat torque/rpm curve.
This is a poor-man's Norton.
And they made an off-road version of this bike called the TT, which I would dearly love to have.
