After many years using my original flash steamer engine water pump for testing I decided to make a test pump from my odds and ends box.
The gauge showed 4000psi.
Some years ago a new generator made from 321 stainless developed longitude cracks after the hydroplane had a sudden dive to the bottom of the lake after a bad launch.
When cold the cracks did not weep until pressure tested to about 2000psi.
When at operating temperature they opened up.
Was it a batch of faulty tubing? as the latest generator 321 has none of them problems despite sudden immersion if things go wrong.
