I just finish building the display box holding the ignition and wander hat kind of finish is compatible with oil and Coleman fuel.

Does Polyurethane stands up to Coleman fuel?
How about Tung Oil one of my favored finish?

Thanks
Mauro

I bought a red oak stair tread to use as the base for one of my gas engines and put about 6 coats of polyurethane on it. So far it has taken gas, coleman fuel, and oil and still looks great. I guess the more coats the better.

Thanks. I figure Poly is pretty impervious but memories from my glow plug flying days of having to use fuel proofing got me wandering.

I guess you found the oak thread to be the best source of red oak available, sometime you got to think out of the box.
