Looking at a new mill.
Why would I select ER32 collets vs ER25 or ER 16?
Thanks
Jim

I feel a heavier collet gives a better grip.
My little X2 has an ER32 holder and collets.

Rick

ER32 collets go up to 3/4" diameter, which might increase your work and toolholding abilities.

Why wouldn't you use R8 collets...they go up higher in size and a lot more common (lots of manufactures and cheaper). My mini mill uses R8 collets. A Grizz G0709.

Take a look at Tormach quick change tooling. Once you use it you'll love them. Less than 30 sec tool change and repeatable.

Are you looking for toolholding or workholding?

Looking at a bench mill from Grizly, Busy Bee, or Sieg.
1.5 to 2 HP
R8 spindle.
