Hi Has anyone used clear power coating on polished brass.I am thinking of useing it on my 0-4-0 switcher. And if so did you like the outcome ,does it hold up well, does it look good . Thanks for any comments . Dale

The big thing to look for is a UV blocker so the clear powder coat doesn't degrade and turn
milky or opaque if it sees a lot of sunshine. It should look good if the application is even, otherwise
the surface looks a little wavy.

I will have to check on the uv blocker .That is a good thought! I have had good results on other things that I have done .But never polished brass.I will just have to try a peice and see what happens . Thanks for the replie . Dale

Check with the operator regarding the temparture of the oven, no need for all your solder to run out from a clear coat job. Memory says 450° F but you need to check.

I know this is an old thread ... but did you try the clear powder coating?

Thanks,
