broke motor help

I just bought a delta 4" jointer and the motor doesn't work. When I turn it on it kind of clicks really fast kind of like a gritty hum. The insides are in very nice shape and no bad smell and no burn evidence and the starter switch is in good shape. I don't know how to check the capacitor so that's probably what it is.

I sanded the contact points for the starter switch and it works like a champ. Best $10 I ever spent.
